Creator
An entity defying time and space, the one true creator, originating from the Void
before the Big Bang, which has also happened by its design. Some claim that the
Creator is Nothingness itself, others that it is only a part of it, but no one denies
that it is god-like. After a certain period of time, the Creator will put each of its
works to the test. If a form of existence finds the purpose of its life in wisdom,
knowledge and becoming closer to its maker, it is elevated to a higher state of being
and given access to all the knowledge of the universe and thus the understanding of
potentially unexplained concepts such as gravity, the nature of time, the meaning of
life, universe and everything. However, if it turns out that a civilization has
allowed itself to be led astray, if it has not been able to achieve certain
technological progress, if its faith serves to defend unforgivable sins or if it
rebels against the Creator’s will, it is condemned and punished. In the case of the
human race, the punishment is prevention of production of happiness hormones
(serotonin, dopamine, oxytocin and endorphins). Humanity thus remains at the mercy of
an eternal void. The Creator’s deeper nature is not elucidated, primarily because it
is impossible for the human mind to comprehend it.
Preacher
The Preacher is an ambassador of the Creator. He takes many forms and usually wears
one close to the species he is judging. No one knows for sure why The Preacher does
not simply pick one form in which he would always appear, but perhaps he is trying to
empathize with the ones being judged in order to be able to make an accurate ruling
that strictly adheres to the Creator’s criteria. While the human concept of empathy
is basically impossible for him, the Preacher does unintentionally carry over the
suffering of the condemned to himself as well, feeling the tragedy and pain of every
judgment, making his difficult task into a punishment of its own, seemingly without
any reason. The Creator is aware of this and it is because of it that he entrusted
The Preacher with his mission. Each trial is extremely exhausting for him and his
suffering is worse with each punished civilization. The Preacher preaches the word of
cosmic totality of death to mankind and announces the verdict for human arrogance and
comfort. He convicts Aquarius of lying and cites the misguided human relationship
with God as the justification for his judgment. He sees that humans are willing to
commit unforgivable moral transgressions in their pursuit of happiness, which they
then excuse through their faith — they hide behind God and abuse faith for their own
convenience. Mankind calls their judge the Voidmonger because of the punishment he
brings — eternal emptiness and depression.
Mechanic
The constructor of the Juggernaut. As the right hand of The Preacher, they do all of
his dirty work — overseeing the Slaves of the Void and punishing them for even the
smallest of transgressions — and they do so with absolute obedience.
Executor
A cybernetic creature created by the Preacher to operate the Juggernaut’s sonic
weapons. Added after the genocide of the inhabitants of planet Helastyr in galaxy
Canis Major, the Drahmirs, when the Preacher decided to herald his arrival and his
punishments to the human race using sound. The Executor issues orders to the Void
Slaves with sound signals. Although he looks somewhat human, he is without feeling or
emotion, moves with machine-like precision and is completely devoted to the Preacher
and his mission.
Juggernaut
A space engine in which the Preacher travels between galaxies and which he upgrades
over time using whatever is available. It was equipped with sonic weapons for use on
Earth.
Slaves to the Void
Spawn of nothingness that were created as a part of the Juggernaut. They are an
extended hand of the Preacher. Aggressive and quick, they move around in a spasmodic,
but precise, manner. They blindly obey orders from the Juggernaut, whose mechanical
parts they operate at the same time.
